Explorer™ Semi-Micro Balance (EXP) – Engineered for Accuracy, Designed for Demanding Applications

The Explorer semi-micro balance combines exceptional precision with intelligent automation to deliver reliable, traceable results in pharmaceutical, chemical, and research laboratory environments. With readability to 0.01mg and capacities up to 220g, the EXP series offers the accuracy and compliance features required for critical weighing applications.

Intelligent Automation for Effortless Operation

Seamless setup begins with motorised leveling that eliminates manual adjustment. Enhanced automatic doors with anti-pinch safety protection respond to two touchless sensors, allowing hands-free operation to prevent sample contamination. The built-in ionizer neutralises static charges that can compromise micro-weighing accuracy, whilst the anti-static glass draftshield and sample spotlight ensure optimal working conditions.

Premium User Interface

A 7-inch TFT colour touchscreen with glass overlay and detachable terminal provides intuitive control of all weighing functions. Two customisable status lights offer at-a-glance confirmation of balance state, whilst the chemical-resistant construction protects the display in demanding laboratory environments.

Comprehensive Application Suite

The Explorer supports 15 weighing modes to match your workflow requirements: basic weighing, parts counting, check counting, percent weighing, check weighing, dynamic weighing, totalisation, formulation, differential weighing, density determination, peak hold, pipette adjustment, statistical quality control (SQC), fill weight variation, and flow rate control. Application sample libraries accommodate up to 3,000 entries for rapid method recall.

Regulatory Compliance and Data Integrity

Meet pharmaceutical and quality system requirements with a 4-level user management system, password protection, and internal system log capacity of 100,000 entries. Time synchronization via NTP (Network Time Protocol) confirms data traceability to satisfy 21 CFR Part 11 and GMP documentation standards. EC Type Approved models available for legal-for-trade applications.

Advanced Connectivity

Straightforward integration to Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) via multiple communication ports: 2× USB Host (Type A), USB Device (Type B), USB Device (Type C), Ethernet (RJ45), and RS232. Support for HID (Human Interface Device) connection enables driverless data transfer to computers without software installation. Optional Wi-Fi and Bluetooth dongles provide wireless connectivity.

Robust Construction

Modular design with metal base and housing ensures long-term stability and serviceability. The zinc alloy aero weighing pan (80mm × 80mm) provides chemical resistance and easy cleaning. Power supply: 100–240 VAC, 50–60 Hz (12 VDC 1.5A output).

Model Range

Available in eight configurations with single or dual-range capacity, readability from 0.01mg to 0.1mg, and optional EC Type Approval for legal metrology. All models include automatic doors, and selected models feature built-in ionizers for static control. Calibration weights (OIML E2 class) supplied with each balance.
