SmartInspector®: Plug-and-Play Machine Vision for Any Packaging Line

The SmartInspector® from TriVision is a compact, plug-and-play vision inspection system designed for straightforward installation on existing conveyors. Powered by TriVision’s intuitive vision software, SmartInspector® performs essential label and artwork, print, and barcode inspection across any type of packaging — with a minimal footprint and without requiring significant line modification or infrastructure investment.

Simple Installation on Existing Conveyors

SmartInspector® mounts directly onto existing conveyor infrastructure using brackets or stands, depending on shop floor conditions. The system is scalable and available in multiple sizes to accommodate different conveyor widths up to 340 mm, making it straightforward to deploy across a range of production line layouts without redesigning the line. A top camera is included as standard, with bottom and side camera configurations also available to extend inspection coverage where required.

Essential Inspection Across All Packaging Types

TriVision’s vision technology enables SmartInspector® to perform thorough label and artwork verification, print quality assessment, and barcode inspection across a wide range of packaging formats, handling products up to 150H × 280W × 280D mm at conveyor speeds up to 800 mm/s. An optional mechanical pusher ejector mechanism can be added to automate rejection of non-conforming products directly on the line.

Robust Construction with a Minimalist Design

The main structure is constructed from stainless steel AISI 316, with encapsulated parts in stainless steel AISI 304, housed in an 885H × 600W × 460D mm enclosure. The minimalist, scalable design keeps the installation footprint small while maintaining the build quality expected in food and pharmaceutical production environments.

Industrial Computing and Open Connectivity

SmartInspector® runs on Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC with an industrial PC, providing a familiar and stable operating environment. The 15.6-inch full HD multi-touch panel delivers an intuitive operator interface, while Gigabit Ethernet, Digital I/O, OPC UA, and REST connectivity enable integration with factory data systems and MES platforms across all supported languages.
