The HIGHER MIDMEKI™ from Mekitec is a powerful X-ray inspection system designed for thick, dense, or oversized food products, such as cheese wheels, butter blocks, large bags, trays, and secondary packaging including boxes and multipacks. Building on the trusted MIDMEKI platform, this 500 W version features a high-power generator and a wider detection area, providing outstanding image clarity and exceptional detection of even the smallest anomalies.

The system is engineered for industrial production lines, with conveyor speeds ranging from 0.54 to 0.9 m/s and a load capacity up to 20 kg. Optional air reject or pusher reject systems with bins ensure automatic removal of contaminated products, maintaining smooth and safe production flow.

HIGHER MIDMEKI™ is constructed from durable brushed stainless steel and incorporates an EU and FDA-approved food-grade conveyor belt. HIGHER MIDMEKI™ is compliant with the UK X-ray Supermarket Code of Practice, meeting the stringent requirements for food safety inspection systems supplying the UK retail sector.

Robust Performance in Industrial Environments

The system features an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance, and operates reliably in ambient temperatures from 0 to 35 degrees Celsius with 30–85 per cent non-condensing humidity. Optional cooling is available for demanding environments.

HIGHER MIDMEKI™ operates with a 60–150 kV X-ray source rated at 500 W, with residual radiation kept below 1 µSv/h. The system features safety circuitry certified to Category 3, Performance Level PL d.

User-Friendly Interface and Precision Detection

Operators manage the system via a 15-inch colour TFT LCD touchscreen, with USB and Ethernet connectivity for integration with factory management and reporting systems. A linear scanner detector with 0.4 mm resolution ensures detailed imaging for precise analysis, traceability, and quality assurance.
